How to Listen

First, what is a podcast? Well, it is simply an audio or video publication that is published on regular intervals and broadcast via the internet.  Think of it as internet radio.  However, there is a distinct advantage over radio that you can listen at your convenience.  Many people listen during their commute, while working out, or at work.

Here is a quick tutorial on how to listen to the Discussing Healthcare podcast…

  1. Internet browser: just go to the website, find the episode you are looking for and play it on the embedded player. This works on a Mac, PC, or mobile device.
  2. iTunes: you can find the podcast via iTunes and listen on your Mac, PC, or mobile device.  All episodes will update to your device automatically if you subscribe. If you listen on an Apple mobile device you must now download the Podcasts app.
  3. Podcatcher: there is software available for computers and mobile devices called podcatcher software (or podcast manager).  The software is either free or may cost a few dollars and allows you to subscribe to any podcast and will automatically download the latest episode to your device.  iTunes can be considered a podcatcher.  But, there are others.  Here is a link that will give you a list of options. You can find the software in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

If you use a podcatcher software other than iTunes or the Apple Podcasts app, then you will need to plug in the RSS feed address for the Discussing Healthcare podcast.  The RSS feed address is:
